Singapore - part 1

My 4 day singapore trip i'm uploading the most interesting pics in 4 sets..
First day was a visit to the city. The place was called the Esplanade - or the "theaters by the sea". Next day was planning to cover the zoo and night safari.. which seems to be the worlds first night safari and day after next the plan was to visit sentosa island. It's a theme park sortof place..

Route planning.. the train system and other travel methods in singapore are very well organized.. its intuitive at times to find places..

After getting down from da underground train station its a walk to da Esplanade underground.. This place is dedicated for arts n stuff.. also has some expensive shopping places.. it's a cool place to hangout..
You catch these people practicing for various performances..

A lot of art work on display, especially by children i guess..

Faces

Jewelery box

Apparently confusing parking lot

Special exhibitions are held from time to time from different artists.. this thing i remember was there the last time also..

Outside is an open area with a spectacular view of the city near the sea and there's always some show going on.. Never lacking the crowd.

Spot lights and glitter..

This was a belly dancing performance.. no wonder the crowd was alive..

View of the harbor across the sea. Shot with high ISO for sharpness..

Skyline across the sea. The new lens allowed for sharper pics to be taken hand held.. used high ISO as well

This is the Esplanade building which is quite symbolic to singapore..

Another all time symbol of singapore, the lion and the mermaid hybrid? mmm.. not so sure.. a great place to hangout anyway..

Singapore - part 2

The Singapore zoo is done nicely.. What i like the most is that there are no cages to be seen around.. and the animals seem to be well taken care of.
I took this pic of the parrots and saw some one being told that picture taking is 5$.. i was quick to move out, gladly could zoom in from far.

Not sure who these are though..

Can say that the white tiger is the main attraction of the Singapore zoo.. they sure are cool.. magestic animals.

White tiger's "cage" or should i say kingdom/palace ?..

There were three tigers but one of em was hiding somewhere..

The hippo doing the submarine move.. It's as if they're walking on the moon when viewed underwater

You could watch monkeys for a long time and they would be doing something different each time..

Monkey #3425

Some bird

Family portrait

Some nice additions to the surrounding

These big guys, i'm not sure what they are, give these serious poses from time to time..

Balancing act

The only horse carriage ride in singapore..

An insightful moment..

The second largest bird in the world.. found in australia.. don't ask me who..

A kick from those legs would be fatal..

Crowned

The white rhino..

Striped zebra asses..

Damn the battery ran out.. just when i got to the lions.. missed some good action

Singapore - part 3

Sentosa island is actually a theme park set in an island to the south of Singapore. Attractive stuff are the cable car ride there, sky tower which gradually moves up to give a view of singapore and even indonesia, underwater tunnel, "Songs of the sea" performance of light and water and some other events.

This is near the entrance to the underwater tunnel.. peacocks seem to hang around everywhere there..
The dolphin show comes with the underwater tunnel ticket. Some fascinating stuff done by the pink dolphins (if i'm not mistaken)..

Dolphins aren't the only thing to watch there.. some super-models come to learn new moves from da dolphins..

The double flip triple twist.. whatever move! cool..

A family watching the show..

The underwater tunnel starts with some interesting fishes.. You'll find people from all over the world visiting these places. Singapore has done a great job on tourism.. although being a small country..

This fish.. that fish.. may not be a fish at all

Not a fish..

The tunnel. Well it was my second time there.. still, it's a cool place to be.. especially near the sharks.. a moving belt keeps you moving, you can go around any amount of times as you like

Big fish

Some really funny looking shark. Kinda like a clown with a gun..

Jelly's..

More jelly's..

Find nemo..

Where the tunnel ends is where it starts
