EyE candy

Some great stuff came out few days back.. wasn't far, just the back yard of campus. There's supposedly a park back there, a few have visited. Was on our way to Cyberpark, a nearby place which brings out some good scenes at times but were too late to catch the best of the sun.
It turned out not such a bad idea to stop halfway and wonder towards the lake and the small park nearby..

This thing came out pretty nice although i had no intention whatsoever to come up with such a thing.. just was playing around with shutter speed which over exposed one to produce some burnt out effect..
This was one of the most nicest scenes at that time of evening.. the new campus buildings comes alive back lit from the fading sky, although the place is still quite empty.

most of the images i post now haven't been edited.. is this a positive thing? well a good camera helps to get what you want.. but if you want fantacy or if you consider a photo as a base to do your art work.. there exists endless things you could do with a picture.

There's something about the pic below..colours, shapes and the angles help, hehe..

Most might think this looks like some garbage dump (actually many did.. that's the reason i even came up with this line), but some how i like this so much.. It's sort of like how heavy rock music is beautiful

Classic scene this was.. i tried many angles to capture the glowing leaves of the tree and ended up de-saturating most of the image to exaggerate it..

This was one dark place and the sun was almost gone.. this image came up in my mind when i saw this place.. wanned to give a heavenly like feel

Grass in the evening sun always delights..

At this time of day the sky becomes the canvas.

Where did the lovers go.. or did they never come here before

A killer at night i would say.. was only adventurous enough to bend down a little, left the exploring to the more die-hard people..

Shapes and shades give a 3D feeling in a 2D image. Don't you feel like crawling in to this pic!

MIT - Mega Image Transform

Wanned to share two pics that i've worked on.. Photoshop is magical. There might come a time when you won't have to take pictures anymore.. *^%#&@

This was a monkey (ofcourse it is) taken somewhere in anuradhapura.. an ancient city in Sri Lanka..

This is a new building in campus..

Dark Light

A few weeks ago pics were hard to come by and now it's non stop! I used to wait for it and now i'm thinking like "taking some pics might keep the lens clean"...

Getting ishmael to pose in a serious mood is the next thing to impossible.. those who know him should know what i mean. Somehow may be it was the bigger looking camera that made him stand still for a while.. anyhow it came up a good pic.
A crowded hour..

Experimenting light trails with 3 sec. shutter speed...

Just before the battery ran out. This place had so many pics to be taken.. too bad power ran out after 3 days of first time charge. Battery won't be having any rest soon.
Added some fish eye look to give the impression of... whatever they call that impression is...

Campus backyard

An evening stroll on uni backyard proved to be more than an escape from the squeezing hostel walls..
somethings miss our sight being too small or even being too large..

Freshly cut grass.. some feather like flowers blown in to pieces still hold on to the grass that brought them up

show me the way...

This tank appears very alien at times.. I always get a good feeling being next to something big

DSLR unleashed!

The only regret having the SLR is.. why i didn't buy it earlier!
It's really a good feeling using it. possibilities are endless, every snap is worthy in it's own way.

As i told before, i went to checkout deals in PC fair but was disappointed not to find anything attractive.. i mean the extra stuff that come along with it. Anyhow bought a D40 at sungaiwang plaza. The deal was so good that chath bought the same thing on the spot.Lense filters, screen protectors, water proof bag and an umbrella... not bad. The cam is really easy to learn, gives out breathtaking pics and has combinations of effects features that one could play with for a lifetime.
This was on the night i got the cam, trying out some focusing...
Trip to kukup island was a good chance to tryout the cam and i managed to learn a hell of a lot. Places to walk around were extremely limited due to almost everything being held on top of concrete pillars just above water. Alot of 'fishy' things going on this fishing village which presented a good sight for the cam at times...
This was a fisherman doing some repairs i guess. These are not edited by photoshop whatsoever.. it seems i'll be needing my enhancing skills lesser from now on (unless i need to do something crazy ofcourse).

A closeup of a fishing net, gradual change of focus gives the depth of field pretty well. I just love the colours.

Evening spreading it's yellow light all over is definitely a great time for good shadows and colours.. These are the pillars that hold houses etc. around that place by the way.

Aha! a classic sunset time pic... For now, i would say this was a trial and error pic gone right..

This was an amazing pic taken with the long exposure feature. A 30 second exposure (keeping the shutter opened) to gather light. A tripod was used to make sure no shaking goes on. It was around midnight as well... certainly not possible with a point and shoot cam.

Organizers of the trip.. taking a break. Most of them were really nice people..

It's one snap and everyone wants in.. I can't risk being thrown in to water.. not with the cam in ma hands..

This one down here is my favorite!! sometimes, better ones do happen out of the good...
I've uploaded it in max size.. it's scaled down by the web site though. Click to have a look at the level of detail, pretty nice. Actual size was larger.
The colours, focus, shadows, positioning all are just wonderful.. (personal belief), do i enjoy this or what !

At a fish restaurant... This one i managed to get the colours pretty nicely.. level of detail is quite good as well. Uploaded in max size allowed by blogger as well.

happier times ahead for sure!

Someone's phone cam

Although my phone cam is crap, it's worth having friends with worthy enough phones with cameras capable of taking pics worth the effort.. Craze for camera phones ended a few months ago after almost everyone ended up buying the same phone.
The one on the left was the shadow on the projector screen in some lecture hall. I'd like to call it 'focal point' although the bright focused light is a fake, hehe...

The one on the right side was before joining archery just checking out the equipment.. had to make sure they're up to standard. Especially the new invisible string they've introduced..
These are just wooden bows by the way. The pro ones are quite cool looking with metal bars hanging around for stability and it'd cost about 3K RM.. which is times by 32 to convert to rupees.. okay, no one wants to take up archery as a hobby anymore. Robin hood would've had to rob his ass off to own a real bow.

This is a really old thing i did which includes multiple ME's.. i took 3 pics and combined. some pics were darker than the others because of automatic adjustments in point n shoot cameras..

This would be a case where other ME's from other dimensions have somehow overlapped and figuring out a way to get back... (don't they look serious..)

Okay, to light up the moment.. i found another early pic i've done using a pic i got from Kandy. Thanks to chath for capturing this.

Hey i'm finally gonna get an SLR and tomorrow is the PC fair! well hope i'll find a good deal with alot of accessories. D40 is currently in my mind. It has the most clean user reviews for it's price. It's just my first SLR and future would definitely offer more mean machines..
